Training & Mentoring

For You & With You

At Your Next Event

From the author of Events Are Easy...

Here's why you should call in events specialist

Paul J. Abbott to help you plan your next event.  You will benefit from bespoke training, coaching & mentoring at all stages of the event cycle with a package to suit all budgets...

The Problem

We have all been there. You are getting on with your job and someone comes up with a brilliant idea: "Lets organise an event!" Guess what? They mean YOU are going to be organising an event. This is so common. You are faced with the complex and daunting task of planning and delivering an event without any training, minimal resources, and a whole heap of pressure.

In a dream world, you would get on the web and find someone to come and do all the work for you, but this is not always possible, which is why it has fallen to you in the first place. Events are not glamorous and they are certainly not easy, (regardless of the title of my book!) so I completely understand the pressure you are feeling right now. This is exactly why I wanted to come up with a cost effective solution to support people like you.

The Solution

For the first time, you can bring me on board to work alongside you at strategic points in the event cycle, from planning through delivery and evaluation.

Your situation means that you need to learn on the the job, and fast. There is no point starting with a blank sheet of paper and trying to work it all out for yourself, which is where I come in. I have planned and delivered thousands of events from small meetings to international conferences. Tents in fields to events in arenas. I have been doing this a long time which means I know where to start, and I can mentor you through all the different stages you will go through to bring your event to life.

Everyone is different, and each event has it's unique challenges so the advice and support you receive will be tailored to your circumstances. I will work with you to identify and plug gaps in your knowledge and skills, and we will focus on helping you deliver an event with purpose. We can talk about quality, integrated risk management, finance, health and safety, accessibility, equity and sustainability.

The Benefits

When you bring me in to work with you, the focus is on your personal and professional development. I coach people in events and creative roles to grow and thrive, and I love what I do. This is your event and I want you to own it, but I am going to stand next to you to help you deliver the very best event you can. I will show you tips and tricks to help you at all stages of the process, from what to think about, to how to build good documents. You will have a guiding hand to identify all the different types of risks and how to mitigate them. Sign up to the gold package and I will help you prepare and check the documents and paperwork you need or are required to submit. You will have a trouble-shooter on stand-by when you need one throughout the week. You can even enhance your package and book me for venue viewings and to provide support on the day.
